Chief Alex Park
Chief Alex Park delineates the Southern boundary of the Eagle River Business District and features lawn, beautiful gardens, picnic areas and is the site of family picnics and community events. It is also home to our Town Clock and Commemorative Brick Pavilion and our new Welcome to Eagle River sign. The Park has been a Chamber project since 1983. This park is entirely supported by the Chamber with generous support from businesses and residents. Funds from the Annual Beautification Tea help raise funds to offset the expenses of the park, including insurance, electricity, water and park maintenance fees which rise every year.
Volunteers include community residents, area business representatives, educational staff at UAA, along with Alaska Military Youth Academy, Boy Scout Troops, Eagle River Boys & Girls Club & Chamber Ambassadors to keep this park in tip top shape offering a beautiful entrance into our business district. 2017 Sponsors helping us keep the park beautiful include:

Beginning in 1993, the Chamber Beautification Committee wanted to create a beautiful summer experience in downtown to match the exquisite mountains and surrounding Alaskan wilderness that frame this community. The banners are supported entirely by the Chamber and local fundraising efforts. The Chamber places 60 streetscape banners that depict welcome everyone to downtown Eagle River and feature flora and fauna indigineous to the area. Some proceeds from the Annual Beautification Tea are used to cover expenses related to putting the banners up and down. In 2017, a new series of Winter Wonderland Banners are being added to the beautiful display that enhances the business district. Click here to see how you can help with this effort!
